Procedure Details
Vaginoplasty
Vaginoplasty tightens the vagina by removing excess vaginal lining and tightening the surrounding muscles and soft tissues. Vaginal tissues and muscles can become stretched during childbirth and may not fully return to their pre-pregnancy state.
Anaesthesia
The procedure may be performed under light sedation or general anaesthetic.
- Average surgery time of 1 hour
- May be performed as an outpatient visit

Preparation
- Stop certain medications for 1 week prior (aspirin, NSAIDs, blood thinners) as advised by your doctor
- Stop smoking and drinking alcohol before surgery
- Avoid caffeine on the day of surgery
- Fast for 6–8 hours on the day of surgery
- Wear loose clothing for comfort
Post-surgery instructions
- Absorbable sutures are used — no stitch removal required
- Gently wash the area after toileting, or at least five times daily
- Shower the day after — pat dry, do not rub
- No soaking or swimming for at least 1 month
- Medications provided to support healing and reduce infection risk
- Wear cotton undergarments — avoid tight or irritating underwear for 4 weeks
- Return to work in 2–4 days (varies by patient)
- No sexual activity for at least 4 weeks

Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty reduces the size of the labia minora and is one of the most commonly performed vaginal rejuvenation procedures. Some women are born with irregular or larger labia, while others develop changes after childbirth. Discomfort during exercise, sexual activity or from tight clothing can be a reason to consider this procedure.

Performed under general anaesthetic with a board-certified anaesthesiologist.
